PERSATUAN MELAYU SRI LANKA
ESTD. 1922
Sri Lanka Malay Youth On the 25th of October on the invitation of the President of the CMCC  elders  of various associations gathered at the  Padang mooted the idea of getting the Malay youth from all over the Island together as a unit. The intention of those  gathered was to bring the Malay youth together so that they will get to know each other and promote the unity of the  Malays. Further it was to ensure that the youth were made aware of traditional and cultural values of the community  so that they could promote it for future posterity.   Youth members of the various associations were encouraged to meet as one unit and a few came together to  brainstorm the opportunity. With the guidance and blessings of the elders, the key drivers of the youth set out on a  quest to make it a reality. This resulted in the youth organizing a sports day and pushed for a membership drive to  form an association of their own. Thus is to be born the Sri Lanka Malay Youth Association. The success was gauged  by the tremendous participation from many Malay Associations and Bodies from all parts of the country from as far as  Hambantota and Kandy.  The Padang was a riot of colour with Malay Youth springing with Malay energy. The Sports  Day was held at the Padang on 20th November 2011 followed with the inaugural meeting on the 15th of December  2011 to plan the way forward and to hold the Inaugural General Meeting to establish the Sri Lanka Malay Youth  Association in January 2012, Insha Allah.
